AFFILIATIONS


FOBTOB has been very active within the organ of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), formerly SESCAN (the umbrella Labour Centre for Senior Staff in Nigeria). Officers of the Association held different positions in the Congress as outlined below:

Our Association is also affiliated to Global Union Federation – International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF), based in Switzerland. Our former National President, Comrade Gabriel T. Babalola was elected Africa Regional Secretary of IUF at Accra, Ghana in 2011 and was re-elected at the Africa Regional Conference held at Tanzania in November, 2016.

In addition, Mr. Ade Ola-Joseph, until his retirement, served as the Secretary of the Nigerian Council of International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) with five (5) affiliates as follows:

  1. National Union of Hotels and Personal Services Workers, (NUHPSW)
  2. National Union of Food, Beverages and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE)
  3. Hotels and Personal Services Senior Staff Association (HAPSSSA)
  4. Food, Beverages and Tobacco Senior Staff Association (FOBTOB)
  5. Agricultural and Allied Employees’ Union of Nigeria (AAEUN)
